OPERATING AGENT: 00WEB
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10th 2012 - 6pm
WG YOUNG HALL RM 2033
SMACS GM I
It was a dark and storrrrrrmy night! Well, no it wasn't stormy. It was barely dark out. But I guess technically it was at night.
It was a night, like any other night, with the sun beginning to set below the horizon under clear skies, that SMACS's devoted followers, attracted by the smell of free pizza and liquid nitrogen, flocked to Young Hall. I, your faithful correspondant, have disguised myself as a member of this secret society to bring you the full tale of its mysterious activities.
I arrived at approximately 5:50pm (arriving fashionably early so as to appear like a devoted member and throw off suspicion as to my true intentions) and helped myself to some pizza and refreshment as I awaited the subjects of my investigation to arrive.

Officers also shared intel regarding SMACS's upcoming events including:
Member-Get-A-Member - if you'd like to sign up for membership in the national American Chemical Society, do it through the SMACS club. Members who refer others members will receive a Periodic Table of the Elements Blanket!
Exploring Your Universe - an event which means to enlighten (or convert) the younger grade school generation to the ways of science and study
Seaborg Symposium - a yearly conference which brings together some of chemistry's brightest minds so that they may share their research and discoveries
General Meetings II & III - another opportunity for members to hear about the current research endeavors of UCLA Professors and career advice from experienced individuals (and more opportunities for me to get a peak at the goings on in SMACS)
AND WHAT'S THIS?!?!?!
An easily accessible, newly made SMACS website with info on the club's officers, events, and tons of useful links and resources for chemistry enthusiasts!!! MUST CLICK! (I'll bet they'll put even more details about the events they'll be hosting on it.)
